Occupying the bottom two floors of 1904 Charles Rennie Mackintosh Building, tucked down a cobbled lane in the busy city centre, is Stereo. A bar/café open from midday through to the late evening, any time is a good time for a visit. A great spot to sit on your own, stop by for a drink with friends, or fill up on tasty dish from the vegetarian menu – with baked goods the star picks, all made on the premises. The bar stocks a great range of Scottish beers, as well as all your other favorite libations. The basement is home to a variety of gigs, and licensed until 3am on the weekends, offering a great alternative to clubbing. The Old Hairdresser’s across the lane is a complementing arts space to Stereo, with a performance space, gallery and cafe/bar of its own – also worth a visit.
